BaseSalary range for this role is 65-72k per year + an 10% of base additional compensation plan + Full benefits + 401k.95% remote, 5% occasional onsite visits with Eastern Iowa-based clients.
Role Description
The Human Resources Consultant is a full-time, remote role responsible for providing HR guidance and execution for multiple client organizations. Day-to-day tasks include assessing client HR needs, designing and implementing HR policies and procedures, and advising on employee relations issues. The role involves interpreting labor and employment laws, supporting compliance, and helping clients manage performance, engagement, and organizational culture. The consultant will prepare documentation, participate in virtual client meetings, and deliver practical HR solutions that align with each client’s business goals.
This position requires the ability to manage multiple clients concurrently, prioritize workload, and communicate clearly in a virtual environment.
- Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, with experience supporting small and medium-sized organizations.
- Knowledge of HR Policies and policy development, including implementation and communication across diverse teams.
- At least 3 years of payroll processing experience
- At leaset 4 years of managing benefits administration from implementation, open enrollment, and onwards.
- Experience in Employee Relations, including coaching leaders, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive workplace culture.
- Working understanding of Labor and Employment Law and HR compliance practices relevant to client jurisdictions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex HR concepts in clear, practical terms.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple client engagements, and meet deadlines.
- Relevant education such as a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is an asset.
- Prior experience in HR consulting or fractional HR support is beneficial, along with strong client service and relationship-building skills.
