For this role, we are looking for a Network Engineer with solid experience in cable infrastructure and fiber connectivity solutions, including the design and build out of data centers and optical networks. We are also seeking someone who can use their coding and automation experience to help improve our data center design, construction, and facility operations and processes. Network Engineer, Foundation & Support Responsibilities:
Support all aspects of data center construction and network deployment including new greenfield sites, collocation build outs, and retrofitsCollaborate with network engineering, data center design, and data center connectivity teams to generate network infrastructure design packages and solutions for the deployment teamsAct as a subject matter expert (SME) for the physical infrastructure and design and deployment of the building management system (BMS) and controls network and other general services networks in the data centerPartner with our software teams to ensure our Fiber Infrastructure Management tool accurately reflects network infrastructure design intent and captures any infrastructure changesPerform logical network bootstrapping functions to ensure our internal tools reflect network hardware and circuitsBuild and nurture business relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendorsInitiate and lead strategic initiatives driving efficiency, innovation, and standardization of our data centers through the use of coding and automationPerform site visits and work cross-functionally with construction, design architects, and contractors to validate cabling infrastructure and network builds according to Meta standardsInfluence future iterations of data center and network designs to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructure and enable scalabilityMaintain technical reference, process, and training documentationDevelop automation and tooling to drive consistency and efficiency in all aspects of network design, deployment, and operations25% to 40% of travel required based on project demandMinimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience7+ years of work experience with designing and deploying large-scale data center network infrastructureDemonstrated knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure including design and installation best practices, industry standards, application and limitationsKnowledge of the data center design, construction, and start up/commissioning processesExperience leading cross-functional teams and driving large-scale data center projectsTrack record of solving problems, setting strategic direction, and executing tacticallyWorking knowledge of internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching) and optical transport technologiesKnowledge of enterprise and provider level network hardware platforms (IP + Optical)Organizational, multitasking, prioritization and communication experiencePreferred Qualifications:

Experience working with on-site construction teams and managing contractor and vendor relationshipsKnowledge of data center facilities management using building management and automation systemsIn-depth experience with inside/outside plant cable design and dark fiber buildsExperience working on a global team in a matrixed environment with limited supervisionData center design or relevant telecommunications certifications2+ years of programming experience in at least one language such as Python/C++/Go or other languagesDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesPublic Compensation:
$135,000/year to $191,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
