Job Description Summary
The Cloud Security Engineer role is part of the Cloud Security Engineering function and is responsible for ensuring the secure design and delivery of Cloud solutions to enterprise application teams, based on customer requirements. A Security Engineer delivers architecture guidance and educates teams at the Cloud Center of Excellence (COE) to design, build, and implement secure coding and continuous security practices for infrastructure and applications.
The role specializes in information security management, business and regulatory compliance, and the use of Cloud services in large‑scale computing environments worldwide.
- Assist in implementation of Security Standards, based on the organization’s Security policy and IT organization, guided by senior members and stakeholders.
- Advise on implementation of basic security standards and controls for Cloud solutions.
- Assist with implementation of standardized solutions to facilitate secure access for one product or application in the Cloud environment:
- SIEM and audit logging (Cloud Trail & Config)
- Management of security groups, ACLs, perimeter security with WAF and Shield DDoS
- Data‑in‑Transit / certificate management; data‑at‑rest / key/secret management
- Assist with design and construction of highly available, cost‑efficient, fault‑tolerant, and scalable distributed systems.
- Familiar with AWS design principles, security best practices, and industry security standards.
- Assist with implementation of cloud architecture solutions based on defined security standards from both application and infrastructure perspectives.
- Assist with regular testing and scanning of cloud products and applications to ensure compliance with overall security standards.
- Assist with delivery of cloud security patterns and implementations based on customer requirements.
- Educate the Cloud COE team and other application teams across the enterprise to design and implement secure coding and continuous security practices within their applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
- Two years of relevant experience, including one year supporting enterprise‑level platform installations.
- Ability to give and receive feedback in a cohesive agile team.
- Flexibility, adaptability to change, and a continuous learning mindset.

- Decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
- AWS Associate Dev Ops or Architect certification.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum principles.
- Experience with cloud computing technologies.
- Familiarity with AWS Well‑Architected Framework and cloud migration standards.
- Programming background in at least one language such as C++, Java, Python, Ruby;
Python preferred. - Knowledge of container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS, Azure AKS).
- Technical writing skills for documenting environments and procedures.
- Knowledge of industry compliance and security standards.
- Experience with automation and continuous delivery technologies.
- Ability to think outside the box.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification (mandatory).
- Normal office working conditions or opportunity for hybrid work.
- Collaboration with global remote teams may require work outside of standard office hours.
- Occasional travel for conferences, meetings, and training.
The salary for this position generally ranges between $94,000 and $105,000 annually. The position also offers an annual bonus based on performance and other benefits such as health, dental, vision, and retirement options.
