Great America Financial Services is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (Sr. BSA) to act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, IT team members and external vendors. The Sr. BSA will translate complex business needs and requirements into functional and technical specifications, analyze business requirements, design technology solutions, optimize system performance, and ensure successful implementation of enterprise applications. The role will lead IT‑driven projects, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to the strategic technology roadmap across the enterprise.

Functions
  • Stakeholder and Vendor Management – Work closely with internal teams to ensure solutions meet business expectations, negotiate trade‑offs, coordinate with third‑party vendors for issue resolution and feature deployments, write RFP proposals, negotiate priorities, and guarantee service‑level agreements are met.
  • Business & Systems Analysis – Design system enhancements, integrations and configurations aligned with business needs. Partner with developers, architects and vendors to accurately interpret requirements, lead workshops, training sessions and solution demonstrations, and provide detailed drawings, wireframes, use cases, data models and written specifications.
  • Refining & Structuring User Stories – Collaborate with Business Architects and Product Managers to refine the 'what' and 'why' for large‑scale initiatives, ensuring clear acceptance criteria and validated testability.
  • Identifying System Dependencies & Constraints – Conduct gap analysis and feasibility assessments, communicate technical constraints, and lead remediation efforts to reduce or eliminate constraints.
  • Project Leadership – Serve as a project lead for small to medium IT initiatives, develop agile project plans, track progress, facilitate cross‑functional meetings, manage risk, dependencies and change requests, and coordinate with solution and data architects.
  • Optimizing System & Data Architecture – Provide advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, monitor system performance, recommend best practices and process automation, and design scalable solutions with architects and tech leads.
  • Facilitating Collaboration with Developers & QA – Document functional and non‑functional test scenarios, lead user acceptance testing (UAT), test planning, execution and defect management for initiatives you lead.
  • Driving Continuous Improvement – Establish and maintain repositories and knowledge bases for system documentation, promote best practices, mentor teams in analysis and design methodologies, and support continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Risk Assessment & Impact Analysis – Manage risks, dependencies and change requests across multiple efforts and maintain collaboration across systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience writing functional and technical design specifications.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Deep knowledge of software development using COBOL, RPG, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML, JSON, .NET, Python, SQL.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in cloud platform configuration (Salesforce, Workday, SAP, FiServ, SharePoint, Info Lease, Microsoft Azure).
  • Proficiency with Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, Confluence, JIRA for requirements, process modelling, wireframes, use‑case diagrams.
  • Practical database and query optimization experience; working with QA functions, user‑defined functions, views and indexes.
  • Experience in financial services.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to work independently or in cross‑functional teams, prioritize tasks under pressure, adapt to shifting business priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
Technical Skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Visual Studio Code (or similar), JIRA, Service Now.
  • Technical documentation tooling such as Git (Git Hub, Azure Dev Ops).
  • Business case analysis and modeling using Excel or comparable technologies.
