The Director, Enterprise Architecture serves as the end‑to‑end solution architecture authority for the enterprise and provides strategic and hands‑on leadership for the Solution Architecture function. This role leads and manages a team of Solution Architects while overseeing the design and delivery of scalable, reusable, and secure technology solutions across Great America’s products and platforms.

• Research and evaluate new technologies, frameworks, tools, and best practices to improve the quality and efficiency of technology solutions.
• Promote a test‑and‑learn mentality and processes through proof‑of‑concept and prototype delivery to enable rapid innovation.
• Architect high‑quality software applications and data solutions using Salesforce, Azure, APIs, in‑house software, Info Lease, and Databricks.
• Create and maintain architecture artifacts, including reference diagrams and patterns.
• Collaborate with solution architects and engineers to ensure alignment and integration of solutions across products and business domains.
• Partner with engineers to solve issues through scalable architecture and patterns, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
• Identify and drive aggressive reduction of technical debt and manage application rationalization to significantly reduce the number of applications.
• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Solution Architects.
• Define and guide the adoption of technology architecture standards, procedures, and policies.
• Lead the enterprise architecture review board and ensure compliance with target‑state architecture models, security, risk, and compliance requirements.
• Assist in new product and vendor evaluations, proof‑of‑concepts, and prototypes.
• Architect cloud‑based application/product architectures with reusable patterns such as microservices and event‑driven techniques.
• Align architecture strategy with business goals and consult with product/platform teams to adapt enterprise architecture as needed.
• Research and evaluate emerging technology, industry, and market trends.
• Lead the refactoring of applications for cloud deployment and building cloud‑native applications.
• Work on highly complex solution architecture requiring in‑depth knowledge across multiple specialized domains.
• Collaborate with product management, business architecture, and engineering leaders to maintain architectural alignment with product goals and requirements.
• Participate in budget processes to ensure objectives are achieved within fiscal expectations.
• Act as a steady advisor to the CTO and platform leadership, especially on trade‑offs or escalations.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, computer engineering, systems analysis, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience architecting complex solutions, with at least 5 years using Salesforce technologies, integration patterns, and relevant SaaS solutions.
• 3+ years of experience implementing Agile and Scrum methods in a product‑oriented enterprise setting.
• Proven experience working with product owners, software, security engineers, data architects, application developers, and data scientists to plan enterprise solutions.
• Ability to develop and document enterprise reference architecture designs.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Hands‑on understanding of cloud platforms, Dev Ops, integrations, and event‑driven architectures.
• Solid knowledge of data architecture and platform ecosystems, and experience working with enterprise data leadership.
• Ability to make trade‑off decisions between speed, cost, risk, and long‑term sustainability.
• Fluency in Scaled Agile (SAFe) architecture practices, including architecture runway, enablers, and PI planning.
