Lead Global Solutions Architect
Transamerica is seeking a Lead Global Solutions Architect to design, architect, and support enterprise systems, services, and applications across cloud and on‑premises environments. The role collaborates with architects, engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable technology solutions that align with Transamerica’s architecture principles and business goals.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with enterprise and solution architects, software, data, cloud, and security engineers, and business product owners to establish solution architecture designs.
- Construct architectural artifacts that support robust, reusable, scalable, and secure technology solutions using approved component standards, patterns, and reference architectures.
- Follow best practices for creation and delivery of architecture artifacts, document and maintain architecture standards, facilitate architecture review board approval, and contribute to the architecture repository.
- Serve as an architecture advisor and validator during build, test, validate, deploy, and operate stages of the systems development life cycle.
- Keep pace with advances in the solution architecture field, evaluate emerging technologies, and contribute to project requirements.
- Receive, provide, and address meaningful feedback regarding the quality of architectural artifacts and embrace continuous improvement opportunities.
- Design APIs and data delivery services to support critical operational processes, analytical models, and machine learning applications.
- Communicate stakeholder expectations and present complex technical concepts in an understandable manner.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, engineering, MIS, or equivalent experience.
- Solution Architecture, Technology, and platform certifications (e.g., AWS, Microsoft).
- Eight years of collective experience in technology solution design, software engineering, agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Four years of experience architecting, building, and administering complex solution architectures in on‑premises and cloud environments.
- Strong analytical, critical, and strategic thinking and execution skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver successful project outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership and team‑building abilities.
- Experience managing conflict effectively within a project context.
- Proven ability to sell ideas and solutions to various stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, relationship building, and people skills.
- Prioritization skills to meet tight deadlines.
- Professional experience within the financial services, insurance, banking, or software development industry.
- Thorough knowledge of Open API Specification, REST, API design, security, and implementation.
- Software development experience in Java, Python, Scala, Node.js, or SQL.
- Hybrid office environment (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays).
- Occasional travel < 5%.
- Flexibility to work outside of standard hours to accommodate global teams and initiatives.
The salary range for this position is $145,600 – $168,000 annually. The final starting salary is determined by qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation, and operational needs. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus at the company’s discretion.
