Responsibilities- Independently own cybersecurity responsibilities for assigned information systems, ensuring security objectives and risk management.
- Serve as primary authority for inspections, assessments, audits, and continuous monitoring, leading preparation, execution, and response activities.
- Execute and maintain system authorization using RMF and applicable guidance including JSIG and DAAG.
- Maintain awareness of DD Form 254s and contractual security requirements to align controls with mission objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and validate cybersecurity plans, authorization artifacts, and compliance documentation for audit‑ready operations.
- Identify, assess, and communicate cybersecurity risk to senior leadership and authorizing officials, including impact of system changes, vulnerabilities, inspection findings, and authorization conditions.
- Lead continuous monitoring activities, evaluating security posture and control effectiveness, and tracking security‑relevant data.
- Develop, manage, and drive closure of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) from inspections, assessments, and monitoring.
- Lead and oversee cybersecurity Change Control Boards (CCBs), evaluating proposed changes for security impact and authorization implications.
- Execute or coordinate corrective security actions from inspections, monitoring, or incidents.
- Engage with Program Managers to integrate cybersecurity requirements into program execution and decision‑making.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including IT, Facilities, and Industrial Security, to integrate requirements into technical, physical, and operational environments.
- Coordinate with other cybersecurity teams across the enterprise for consistent implementation.
- Provide technical direction and mentoring to ISSOs for consistent RMF execution and quality artifacts.
- Prepare and deliver status reporting to senior leadership, summarizing posture, readiness, risk trends, POA&Ms, and significant issues.
- University degree with minimum 8 years relevant experience or advanced degree with minimum 5 years experience.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Active DoD Secret or higher clearance on day 1.
- IAM Level III certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GSLC).
- Experience performing ISSM responsibilities for classified or controlled systems.
- Advanced knowledge of RMF and DoD authorization processes.
- Experience executing authorization and monitoring using JSIG and/or DAAG.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity regulations, contractual requirements, and DD Form 254 interpretation.
- Experience supporting inspections, assessments, and audits.
- Ability to independently assess risk and communicate status to leadership.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%.
- Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience as primary ISSM for SAP and/or DoD collateral systems.
- Experience owning ATOs and driving POA&M closure.
- Experience mentoring ISSOs and providing technical oversight.
- Experience leading Change Control Boards.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams and enterprise cybersecurity organizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication for senior leadership briefings.
