Job DutiesDesigns, installs, and implements large, highly complex, routine, and non-routine audiovisual (AV) hardware, software, and associated systems. Leads the preparation of rooms, venues, or events with proper AV equipment to ensure proper functionality and security according to client requests and business needs.
Key Responsibilities- AV Equipment Support – 75%:
Set up, install, upgrade, configure, troubleshoot, adjust, document, and connect complex audio, visual, lighting, computer equipment, and peripherals in various environments for events, academic instruction, distance education, or meetings according to established requirements and requests. Respond to assistance requests in the campus IT ticketing system. Schedule logistics and secure resources for new installations. Test, maintain, and provide recommendations for alternative hardware and software options to ensure proper functionality, security, and business needs.
Provide consultation for audio visual equipment purchases. - Support for Faculty and Staff – 15%:
Assist with development and scheduling of operational work plans for classrooms technology. Provide consultation and answer questions regarding audio-visual and classroom technology equipment and functionality to individuals and groups based on set material and standards. - General Responsibilities – 10%:
Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience providing training on use of technology.
- Communication skills to create instructions for use of technology.
- Customer service skills.
- Knowledge and experience with troubleshooting audio-visual equipment.
- Organizational and administrative skills.
- AV Systems Certifications (possible Q-SYS or Extron).
- Professional experience in higher education.
- Experience with Q-SYS and/or Extron programming.
- Practice with project management involving audiovisual components.
- At least 2 years of experience supporting technology-enabled classrooms or distance education programs.
- Minimum:
High School Diploma. - Preferred:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Education, or related field.
Starting at $50,000, commensurate with experience.
