IT Support Technician
Mount Mercy University is seeking a customer-focused IT Support Technician to provide frontline technology support for faculty, staff, and students. This role serves as the first point of contact for technical issues and helps maintain a positive technology experience across campus.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Tier 1 support for computers, printers, classroom technology, and software.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, account access, and password issues.
- Document and manage requests through the IT ticketing system.
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate IT staff.
- Assist with setup, maintenance, and support of university technology.
- Deliver support in person, by phone, and remotely.
- Collaborate with IT team members and contribute to process improvements.
- Work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
- Associate degree or 2+ years of related IT support experience.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Experience supporting Windows and macOS environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and common desktop technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and manage multiple priorities.
- Associate degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Dell certification or similar technical certifications.
- Experience with remote support tools, AV/classroom technology, and account management systems.
