Attorney​/Lawyer

Description We are looking for a dedicated Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role focuses on supporting legal and compliance functions within the private real estate investment sector. The ideal candidate will contribute to drafting contracts, conducting legal research, and ensuring regulatory compliance in property acquisitions and fund operations.

Responsibilities:

- Draft and review legal documents, including purchase agreements, leases, and other real estate contracts.

- Conduct thorough legal research on commercial real estate law, regulatory matters, and tax implications.

- Assist in performing due diligence for property acquisitions and dispositions.

- Provide support in managing compliance and risk for fund operations.

- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely contract execution.

- Analyze legal issues related to leasing and investor agreements.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws and regulations impacting commercial real estate.

- Offer guidance on legal matters related to acquisitions and leasing.

- Ensure proper documentation and compliance tracking within the scope of operations. Requirements

- Juris Doctor (JD) degree with a focus or interest in commercial real estate law.

- Active attorney license in good standing.

- Proven experience in drafting and interpreting contracts, including purchase agreements and lease documents.

- Strong understanding of compliance risk management and regulatory requirements.

- Familiarity with due diligence processes for acquisitions and dispositions.

- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
