About the Role
Product Cost Manager – responsible for tracking and driving key Avionics Supply Chain cost management initiatives and contract coverage (PAC) objectives. Requires close collaboration with central commodity teams, internal stakeholders, finance, and other supporting functions to understand overall cost and PAC project plans and identify opportunities to meet supply chain objectives. Supports strategic supply chain initiatives within the Avionics Strategic Business Unit (SBU), including special sourcing activities, expiring contract deep‑dive analysis, and SBU‑specific long‑term agreement projects.
WhatYou Will Do
- Collaborate with central commodity teams to drive cost reduction goals aligned with overall commodity and business unit strategies and achieve cost objectives.
- Analyze, identify, and communicate risk and opportunities to long‑term agreement goals, including expiring contracts.
- Team with supply chain to understand and track direct supply chain savings and PAC for the Avionics Business Unit.
- Prepare and present metric status and performance for Supply Chain leadership.
- Drive recovery plans for cost and PAC with commodity teams.
- Collaborate with Collins organizations (e.g., contracts, procurement, quality, value stream) to execute Supply Chain strategies.
- Manage several projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong project management skills.
- Dive into detail and provide hands‑on support to bridge gaps where teams need assistance.
- University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or Advanced Degree and minimum 5 years of experience.
- Experience in Supply Chain with cost‑out initiatives.
- Experience utilizing an MRP or ERP system such as SAP or Oracle.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical skills (Excel, Access database, SAP, PowerPoint).
- Technical or manufacturing aptitude.
- Experience with negotiations.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results through influence in cross‑functional engagement.
- Self‑driven and highly motivated in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
