Commodity Manager – Panels & Keyboard (Avionics Strategy and Cost)
Role OverviewResponsible for developing and executing the overall commodity strategy for the Panels & Keyboard specialty, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and delivering cost savings and strategic alignment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Panels & Keyboard commodity and its supply base.
- Collaborate with contracts, procurement, quality, value stream, and other cross‑functional teams to execute supply chain strategies.
- Own and manage relationships with multiple strategic suppliers.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, competitiveness, capability, and reliability (TCO).
- Negotiate and execute long‑term agreements aligned with commodity strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Lead the sourcing process from RFQ through contract signature.
- Operate with limited oversight, driving decisions independently.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, applying strong project management skills.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with leaders at all levels.
- Lead change management or work‑transfer initiatives to achieve cost savings or improved supplier alignment.
- Analyze data to inform strategy development, negotiation positions, and supplier decisions.
- University degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Experience in supply chain management.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical skills (Excel, Access database, SAP).
- Technical or manufacturing aptitude.
- Proven negotiation experience.
- Supply chain experience.
- Experience with negotiations.
