Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

The Procurement/Buyer II supports the organization’s supply chain and contracts functions by managing purchasing activities from requisition through purchase order closeout. This position works closely with internal business units and suppliers to ensure materials and services are procured accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies.

The ideal candidate has experience in purchasing or supply chain operations, strong ERP system proficiency, and the ability to identify process improvements and automation opportunities.

• Process purchase requisitions and convert approved requests into accurate purchase orders.
• Manage the full purchase order lifecycle, including creation, revisions, tracking, reconciliation, and closeout.
• Maintain purchasing information within the organization’s Enterprise Resource Planning system and other supply chain platforms.
• Monitor open purchase orders and proactively resolve delivery, invoicing, documentation, and system-related issues.
• Prepare reports for management regarding open and closed purchase orders, supplier activity, purchasing trends, and vendor spend.
• Partner with internal business units, suppliers, supply chain personnel, and contract teams to support purchasing requirements.
• Identify opportunities to automate the replenishment of routinely purchased materials and supplies.
• Manage punch-out and electronic catalog purchases while identifying opportunities to improve system utilization and purchasing efficiency.
• Support procurement best practices, including supplier relationship management, electronic requisitioning, EDI, e-commerce, supplier-managed inventory, and investment recovery.
• Promote compliance with company sourcing policies, procurement procedures, and purchasing guidelines.
• Identify potential ERP and procurement-system enhancements and collaborate with internal stakeholders to prioritize and implement improvements.
• Support process improvement and work-simplification initiatives throughout the supply chain organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of four years of related purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
• Working knowledge of procurement processes, purchase order administration, and supplier management.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and electronic procurement tools.
• Ability to manage multiple requests, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-improvement capabilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use evolving technology and automation tools to streamline purchasing activities and communications.
  
  Ability to collaborate effectively with employees, suppliers, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.

Professional procurement or supply chain certification such as:

• Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)

This position performs work under the direction of a Manager or Senior Manager.
