Facilities Manager

Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Manager for a contract opportunity with our client in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
.

The Facilities Manager will oversee the operational aspects of multiple properties, ensuring maintenance, safety, vendor compliance, and site improvements align with client and company standards. The role includes managing teams, vendors, budgets, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

• Work in conjunction with the regional facilities manager to develop and execute the overall vision of the facilities team.
• Assist in the strategic direction for operations and maintenance teams in alignment with client goals.
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed and assist in developing training programs to enhance team capabilities.
• Oversee property operations to protect, maintain, and improve site value.
• Inspect sites regularly to guarantee high-quality building services and monitor preventive maintenance programs.
• Drive continuous improvement in site performance.
• Manage third-party contractors and vendors involved in property operations and maintenance.
• Coordinate with sourcing managers and regional facilities managers on bid and contract processes for maintenance and project services.
• Transform operational practices utilizing tools, processes, and best practices to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Maintain sites using service level agreements and key performance indicators.
• Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis of failures.
• Develop and maintain operating budgets, meeting KPIs, and managing cost savings initiatives.
• Support multi-year capital improvement project planning and execution.
• Develop and sustain positive client relationships, ensuring service delivery meets expectations.
• Act as an ambassador for the organization’s core values of teamwork, ethics, and excellence.
• Establish and promote a safety-first culture among facility personnel.
• Lead team performance reviews, coaching, and foster employee development opportunities.
• Promote diversity and inclusivity within the team.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
• Five to eight years of facilities management experience.
• Strong technical background in industrial setting.
• Experience managing facilities teams and 24/7 operations in fast-paced environments.
• Superior client relationship management skills.
• Organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan and manage within budget and time constraints.
• Understanding of various building systems.
• Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative management style.

• Experience in managing facilities teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Background in administrative roles and facilities work order systems.
