Coe College seeks qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Director of Residence Life. The Assistant Director is a full-time, live-in professional staff member in Residence Life, primarily responsible for students living on campus and positively impacting their overall experience at the College. Provides programming to meet the unique needs and challenges of these residents that aligns with Residence Life goals.
Assumes joint responsibility for the administration and quality of the Residence Life program with the other Assistant Director and Director of Residence Life, which includes RA selection/training/supervision, assessment, and facilities management. Serves as a front-line responder in campus emergencies that may require working non-traditional hours. Thispositionsupervises 15-20 RAs, with oversight of multiple residential living spaces.
Work Schedule: 12 months per year, live-on campus, on call every 4 weeks.
- Student Staff Supervision
- Selection, supervision, development, and evaluation of 15-20 student staff members.
- Advising and Counseling
- Advise and mentor individual students and respond to crises.
- Programming and Educational Development
- Provide programming for returning residents that meets their needs and that contributes to their retention at the College.
- Commitment to the Coe College Mission and Expectations of the Student Life Department
- Education or experience in housing, residence life, or student life.
- Proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Strong computer skills, including spreadsheet/database and word processing.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States, as we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
- Successful completion of a background and driver check in accordance with Coe College policy.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to navigate residential buildings on campus, including stairs.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally drive students to off-campus sites.
- Typical office setting – stationary for several hours at a time.
