Responsibilities as a Model maker include machining and fabricating parts, assemblies, and prototypes in an accurate and timely manner utilizing whatever equipment is necessary and available. This may include CNC mill and lathe, wire EDM, or manual machine tools, fabrication, and welding equipment as required. Will utilize CAD to design tooling and parts as required, providing prints and documentation as requested.

An uncompromising and demonstrated attitude of safety around all machining and fabrication equipment is essential.

Model maker will ideally possess an Associate of Science (AS) degree in CNC or Tool and Die from an accredited college or apprenticeship program. Alternatively, may possess demonstrated equivalent experience in machining, CNC programming and operation for a minimum of 5 years in Industry. CAD experience a definite plus.

The Model Shop is a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment that requires self-motivation, initiative and a think-on-your-feet stance every day. The Model maker will be part of a team and input on part design, manufacturability, and tool design is valued and expected.

The ability to work safely under stress and maintain professionalism with diverse teams is a necessity.
