This position performs varied mechanical duties such as installing, repairing, dismantling, and or moving company‑manufactured equipment. This position will primarily be control upgrades on varying HVAC machines with different lengths of service time in the field. Must have a strong electrical background and programming knowledge in Allen Bradley and B&R is preferred. Must be able to travel 3 out of 4 weeks per month;

ability to be home on weekends is possible.

Hours:

this will vary based on scheduled products. Core hours would be Monday-Friday, 6:30 am-3 pm, with occasional Saturdays, 6 am until noon.

Wage range: $30-35.00 hr., depending on education/experience.

Job Description

The Service Technician – Quality Review & Inspection is responsible for performing detailed quality inspections and operational reviews on machinery at the company facility to ensure equipment meets company standards, customer expectations, and safety requirements before release or delivery. This position is on‑site.

This role focuses exclusively on inspection, testing, verification, and documentation rather than installation or repair work. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of equipment quality and performance.

  • Work closely with the Assembly Supervisor.
  • Perform final quality review inspections on machinery and equipment before shipment or customer delivery.
  • Verify completed work meets company quality standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality control documentation, inspection records, and related reporting.
  • Maintain, organize, and ensure accuracy of all quality review checklists, inspection forms, and compliance documentation.
  • Coach assemblers on quality expectations, inspection standards, and best practices.
  • Communicate quality concerns, trends, and corrective action recommendations to production leadership and assembly teams.
  • Collaborate with assemblers and supervisors to identify opportunities for process improvement and defect reduction.
  • Review operational testing results and verify equipment readiness for release.
  • Ensure all quality review activities are completed in accordance with company policies, customer requirements, and safety standards.
  • Monitor recurring quality issues and escrow concerns appropriately.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to manufacturing quality and documentation processes.
  • Maintain professional working relationships within a union manufacturing environment while respecting role boundaries and work classifications.

This is an onsite role but may have opportunities 0-15% of travel each year which would have ample notice in advance.

Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical and educated on electrical principles and ability to apply to specific jobs as required.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with a wide variety of individuals involving the company’s customers and their employees.
  • Thorough product knowledge. Full understanding of the customer service philosophy and procedures of the company.
  • High degree of precision working with minimum tolerance required. A high degree of attention and care is required to prevent injury to others when responsible for the flow of electrical power. Exposed to high voltage electricity.
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures, work beneath machines, and perform analysis and repair work.

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Certified industrial maintenance that includes a background in Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Mechanical, and electrical would be a plus. 2 years of experience or completion of a credited industrial maintenance program in Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Mechanical, and Electrical Industrial Equipment is ideal.
