Avionics Staff Test Technician – engineering lab assembly technician role at Collins Aerospace. Build industry‑leading production test equipment, ranging from engineering prototypes to build‑to‑print hardware, including large cable harnesses, circuit card assemblies, and test fixtures.
Responsibilities- Assemble and inspect test assemblies for research, design, development, and manufacturing activities, including cable harnesses, circuit card assemblies (CCAs), test fixtures, and interchangeable test adapters (ITAs).
- Ensure test assemblies meet Collins Aerospace build processes and workmanship standards.
- Identify and document errors in engineering drawings and provide red marks for engineers to update designs.
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues and contribute to design improvements.
- AA/AS degree (or other 2‑year post high‑school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- 6+years of experience as an avionics test technician.
- Experience building and inspecting test assemblies, fixtures, cables, and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
- Completed Collins training for build and inspection processes.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and using lookup tools.
- Knowledge of soldering materials, fluxes, and equipment, with the ability to operate and maintain soldering tools effectively.
- Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in a cross‑functional team environment.
- Willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
