Senior Repair Operations Supervisor – Onsite, 2nd Shift (3:30pm – 12am) in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role leads the operations of Customer Return Goods, supporting aerospace and defense technologies. The supervisor manages multiple production cells or a complex manufacturing area, ensuring teams meet quality, delivery, and operational objectives while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of entry- and intermediate-level employees or team leaders, determining how assignments are completed and setting daily goals.
- Ensure all quality-related items for multiple cells or a complex cell are completed and documented to meet established standards.
- Guide cost reduction and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Plan and execute scheduling for multiple cells or a complex cell to meet production schedules.
- Guide sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, to optimize productivity.
- Supervise activities for materials and logistics problem resolution to maintain material availability and smooth operations.
- Manage cell performance and productivity to maximize output.
- Guide production innovation, including additive manufacturing, to enhance production capabilities.
- Interface with customers to understand needs, address issues, and ensure satisfactory service standards.
- University degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience in a services and/or manufacturing environment.
- Experience interfacing with internal and/or external customers.
- Unionized manufacturing environment experience and effective partnership with bargaining unit employees.
- Experience with CORE principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with manufacturing and business systems, including SAP, Personas, Tableau, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through change, inspire employee engagement, and drive team performance.
- Strong understanding of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements and a proven commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace environment.
- Salary range: 86,800
USD – 165,200
