Description
Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Automation Specialist to support our Industrial customers across Eastern Iowa. This role is ideal for someone with 2-4 years of experience in automation, controls, or electrical distribution who enjoys working directly with customers, solving problems, and driving technical solutions in the field.
This position is field-based, with travel throughout Eastern Iowa. Candidates can be based anywhere within the territory. Travel is frequent, but overnight stays are minimal.

Minimum Qualifications:
+ 2-4 years of experience in automation, controls, or electrical distribution
+ Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, PLCs, and control components
+ Preferred experience with Square D / Schneider Electric products
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
+ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based role
+ Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout Eastern Iowa
+ Willingness to commit to completing Alliance Certified Training within an agreed-upon timeframe

+ Conditions vary and may include industrial, warehouse, office, and external environments. Some activities will include climbing, standing, and possible extreme heat/cold conditions. Office time may include sitting for extended periods.
+ The position involves travel - both by car and by air.

Essential Job Functions:
+ Provide technical support and expertise for automation and control solutions to industrial customers
+ Assist customers with product selection, system design, and troubleshooting
+ Work closely with sales teams to identify opportunities and deliver tailored solutions
+ Support commissioning, startup, and integration of automation systems
+ Conduct product demonstrations and basic training for customers
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams
+ Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and product updates
