This position manages volunteer recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, communication, retention, and day-to-day coordination for service programs including Meals on Wheels.

Horizons is looking for a highly motivated, community-focused Volunteer Coordinator to lead and grow our volunteer program in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

What You'll Own:

• Recruit, train, and supervise a dedicated volunteer base
• Match volunteers to the right roles with purpose and efficiency
• Oversee timely, accurate meal deliveries to Meals on Wheels clients
• Spot operational inefficiencies and implement smarter solutions
• Collaborate cross-functionally with staff to deliver exceptional service

• Enjoy being in the community and engaging with businesses and groups to recruit volunteers
• Lead with a customer-first mindset in every interaction
• Communicate with clarity, warmth, and professionalism - written and verbal
• Are tech-savvy with volunteer management or logistics tools
• Hold an Associate's degree + 1–3 years of relevant experience (community collaboration or development experience considered)
