Variety - the Children's Charity of Iowa is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children who are underprivileged, at‑risk, critically ill, or living with special needs.
Position SummaryThe Regional Director of Eastern Iowa serves as the liaison between the Eastern Iowa Committee and the State Office of Variety – the Children’s Charity of Iowa. This position leads fundraising efforts, builds relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners, and advances Variety's mission throughout Eastern Iowa.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement fundraising plans to meet revenue goals.
- Plan and execute fundraising events in alignment with organizational strategy, budgets, and established processes.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with sponsors, donors, volunteers, community leaders, and business partners, including securing sponsor ships and overseeing sponsorship fulfillment and invoicing.
- Research, write, and submit grant proposals and identify new grant opportunities.
- Collaborate with the CEO and Eastern Iowa Committee to support strategic planning and organizational growth.
- Recruit, engage, and collaborate with Eastern Iowa Committee and event committee(s) members.
- Coordinate and conduct mobility presentations and assist with Variety programs and community outreach in collaboration with the Director of Programs.
- Maintain fundraising records, manage event expenses responsibly, and ensure effective budget oversight.
- Represent and promote Variety's mission and brand throughout Eastern Iowa.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience in fundraising, business development, sales, marketing, or nonprofit management required.
- Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively with volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community leaders.
- Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office collaboration applications.
- Ability to travel throughout Eastern Iowa and ability to flex schedule based on seasonal work outside regular business hours.
- Valid Iowa driver's license and insurability required.
