Jordan Creek Church – Lead Pastor

Jordan Creek Church is searching for a Lead Pastor who can provide spiritual leadership, compelling biblical teaching, and strong organizational leadership as the church enters an exciting new season. This leader will work alongside a committed team of elders while leading and developing the staff, helping bring clarity, unity, and vision to the ministry of the church. The ideal candidate will be a humble and emotionally available leader of leaders - someone who can teach Scripture with conviction, ask great questions, empower others, and lead with both strength and grace.

• Preach and Teach Scripture:
  Serve as a primary Bible teacher, delivering compelling, expository messages that help people understand and apply God's Word.
• Provide Spiritual and Organizational Leadership:
  Help establish vision, direction, and ministry priorities while guiding Jordan Creek into its next season.
• Lead and Develop the Staff:
  Provide clear leadership, coaching, accountability, and support to the staff team, helping leaders thrive in their areas of ministry.
• Lead Through a Plurality of Elders:
  Work collaboratively with the elder team, contributing strong leadership while honoring Jordan Creek's commitment to shared spiritual oversight.
• Develop and Empower Leaders:
  Identify, equip, and release capable leaders, building a culture where ministry is shared and multiplied.
• Be Emotionally Available:
  Lead with genuine presence, accessibility, and relational awareness, choosing to be among people rather than above them.
• Strengthen Discipleship and Community:
  Help deepen pathways for spiritual growth, meaningful relationships, and engagement in the life of the church.
• Engage the Solon Community:
  Live within and become an active part of the community, understanding its culture and helping Jordan Creek contextualize the gospel effectively.

Jordan Creek Church is a non-denominational Bible church located in Solon, Iowa, a growing community positioned between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. Founded by seven families approximately ten years ago, Jordan Creek began with a strong emphasis on missional community and has grown to approximately 200-250 people in weekly attendance. The church has developed particularly strong ministries to children and students, an engaged volunteer culture, and a commitment to biblical teaching and authentic relationships.

Jordan Creek is entering a significant season of opportunity. The church owns land and is currently constructing a new facility, while the surrounding Solon community continues to experience considerable growth. Jordan Creek is led through a plurality of elders and intentionally values shared leadership rather than building the ministry around a single personality. The culture is relational, humble, and authentic - leaders are expected to be among people rather than above them, to earn influence through trust, and to lead other capable leaders without relying on positional authority.
