Volunteer & Outreach Manager is responsible for the Center’s diverse and dynamic volunteer program. The Volunteer & Outreach Manager cultivates relationships with corporate, religious, academic, community and individual volunteers to meet the increasing ongoing services and special project needs of the Center. A successful Volunteer & Outreach Manager utilizes best practices in volunteer management that results in a growing volunteer force with deeper engagement and commitment to the CMC mission.
Qualifications- BA/BS Degree or other degree with equivalent experience.
- Volunteer Management or related experience (2 years’ experience working with volunteers is required).
- Demonstrated ability to present effective and compelling messages to individuals, groups and the public.
- Ability to effectively lead, facilitate, train and manage a group of individuals.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality across CMC.
- Be a creative, enthusiastic, highly motivated, self-starter.
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal/oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others as part of a team.
- Effective public speaking skills.
- Ability to develop rapport with people of all ages, backgrounds, and economic resources, and to treat others in a friendly, courteous, and appreciative manner.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative, and manage multiple projects with changing priorities.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with databases and social media strategies/analytics.
- Ability to behave as a professional representative of CMC and communicate the mission and activities.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues related to literacy, immigrants, refugees, women, poverty, and mental illness.
