Staff Nurse

Community Health Free Clinic (CHFC) is dedicated to delivering compassionate healthcare to alleviate human pain and suffering. Through a mix of volunteer and paid healthcare providers, CHFC offers care for acute conditions, chronic disease management, and dental and eye care services. Patients have access to diagnostic exams, treatment for various conditions, and free prescription programs for both short and long-term medications.

The clinic collaborates with local specialists to ensure timely care for emergent medical and dental needs. CHFC is committed to providing high-quality healthcare services to those in need, regardless of their circumstances.

This is a part-time, on-site Staff Nurse position based in Cedar Rapids, IA. The Staff Nurse will provide direct patient care, including medical intake, referral coordination, and providing education on chronic disease management. Responsibilities include collaborating with the healthcare team, documenting patient care, maintaining medical records, and ensuring compliance with clinic policies and standards. The Staff Nurse will also contribute to the overall delivery of high-quality and compassionate healthcare services.

• Proficiency in patient care, including administering medications, assisting with procedures, and monitoring patient recovery
• Strong communication and patient education skills with a focus on chronic disease management
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records and comply with health clinic policies and procedures
• Experience working with a diverse range of patients and conditions.
• Valid Nurse (RN or LPN) license in the state of Iowa
• CPR certification and familiarity with safety and infection control standards
• Excellent team collaboration and problem-solving abilities
• Experience in community or free clinic settings is a plus
