Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in Iowa requiring a current IA or compact license and recent ER travel experience.
Responsibilities
• Work in a 34-bed Emergency Department treating a mixed patient population
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1
• Position includes drips and titrations
• Night shift weekend package schedule:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday with flexible hours,,, totaling 36 hours per week
• No on-call requirements
• Floating may be required to Marion ED (freestanding campus) and Jones Regional Medical Center
• Uses EPIC EMR system; previous EPIC experience required
• Scrub colors accepted are black, navy blue, and Caribbean blue solids
• Duties include administering critical care, drips and titrations, and responding to diverse emergencies
• New hires will receive up to 16 hours of orientation
• May work as part of interdisciplinary teams across multiple ED settings
• Must be comfortable floating between main campus and affiliated freestanding/remote EDs
• Required to work scheduled weekend and may be assigned holiday shifts
• Professional reference from a supervisor or nurse manager within the last 24 months preferred
• Candidates living within 50 miles may be considered local
Requirements
• Active IA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 24 months of current Emergency Room nursing experience required
• Completion of at least one travel contract within the last 18 months required
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale (may be obtained during onboarding)
• Acceptable de-escalation certificates: CPI, MOAB, MAB, SAMA preferred (can be obtained during onboarding)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Driver’s license required
• Skills checklist specific to Emergency Room nursing required
