American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Cedar Rapids, IA, requiring 24 months of ED experience, Epic proficiency, and active PALS and TNCC certifications.
Details- 34-bed Emergency Department with a mixed patient population
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Experience with drips and titrations required in this setting
- Night shift position with rotating hours of either 1900–0730 or 1500–0330 depending on census and staffing
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- May be required to float to the Marion freestanding ED campus
- Holiday rotation required — candidates must be available to work 1–2 of the following summer holidays:
Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day - Epic EMR used; experience required
- Active IA single-state RN license or compact/multistate RN license required
- Minimum 24 months of Emergency Department experience required
- Must have completed a travel contract within the previous 18 months
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS may be obtained during onboarding)
- De-escalation certification (CPI, MAB, MOAB, or SAMA) highly preferred; candidates without active certification must be willing to obtain during onboarding
- Epic EMR experience required
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Supervisory reference or performance evaluation from within the past 24 months preferred
- Candidates who have been employed by this health system (as an FTE or PRN float pool employee) within the past 12 months are not eligible, regardless of which facility they worked at
- Candidates who previously worked at this health system as a traveler (not FTE or PRN) are not subject to the separation policy
- Scrub colors are limited to black, navy blue, or Caribbean blue solids
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and subject to a reduced pay rate
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position, as a completed travel contract within the past 18 months is required
