Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa’s Department of Hematology/Oncology has a full-time position available for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate-Certified. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team of highly dedicated physicians and staff whose primary mission is to provide high quality, compassionate care to our patients.
This Provider will provide services by performing the following duties:
- Performs medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up, consultation, and health education.
- Assess patient health concerns; diagnose and determine treatment plan.
- Order treatment, therapy and prescriptions as needed.
- Obtains patient histories and develops patient care charts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Provides health education to families, and/or community health practitioners and groups within area of specialty.
- Support quality care and positive patient outcomes for general Hematology Oncologypatients.
Qualifications:
- Current, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license or Physician Associate license.
- Master's degree (M.
A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Clinical expertise in the management of acute and chronic conditions related to cancer and blood disorders, preferred.
- Previous oncology experience and oncology certification preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
- Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
- Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
