The Quality Control Technician executes and maintains quality system requirements at a Motion Conveyance production location - including product inspections to ensure standards are met, evaluation and resolution of non-conforming materials, and maintenance of print control and calibration systems.
JOB DUTIES
- Complete required incoming, in-process, and final product inspections.
- Review potential non-conformances and make product acceptance decisions based on requirements and standards.
- Evaluate customer returns and document findings.
- Evaluation, documentation, follow-up, and disposition of internal and supplier related non-conformances.
- Maintain print control process, ensuring correct revision prints or files are matched to Work Orders and CNC equipment where required.
- Maintain calibration program for measurement devices used in production.
- Assist Engineering team with product testing and evaluation.
- Assist with data collection, tracking, and evaluation of Quality metrics.
- Assist in creation of and updates to Work Instructions and other Quality related documentation.
- Complete process audits to verify inspections and other quality system requirements are being met.
- Support quality-related questions and communication between Production, Customer Service, and Procurement team members.
- May work with other teams to find solutions and implement new protocols and procedures in response to deviations.
- May help drive results in the shop by using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ensures there is a clean, organized, and efficient environment within the shop by sustaining individual accountability of all team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and zero (0) to three (3) years of experience or an equivalent combination
- Basic knowledge of quality system elements or requirements of the ISO
9001 standard. - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Must be knowledgeable in 5s Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Very organized and detailed oriented individual.
