Job Overview:
Our client, in industrial machining, is seeking to add a NEW Quality Technician to their team. The Quality Control Technician is responsible for conducting routine quality inspections throughout the production process, including in-process and final inspections of new machinery. This role ensures products meet all required specifications and compliance standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
This is a Contract role.
What you will be doing as a Quality Technician- Perform quality control inspections of all new equipment.
- Review checklists for compliance with equipment specifications per customer requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between production and engineering for technical updates.
- Assist with overflow part quality checks for machining operations.
- Design and implement methods for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all machinery inspections.
- Support safety initiatives to ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
- Identify and troubleshoot quality issues, recommending and implementing solutions.
- Train production staff in quality control procedures and standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance quality processes.
- Communicate inspection results, findings, and recommendations to management.
- Provide support to the service team with new equipment installations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment.
- Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong knowledge of inspection methods, techniques, and documentation practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong computer skills, including quality assurance software, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Regularly required to stand and frequently walk, handle materials, reach, talk, or hear.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts on occasion.
- Noise level is generally moderate.
- Must successfully pass a competency test, pre-employment drug screening, and background check.
