Job Description:
- The QA Manager is a full-time field-based position responsible for mechanical/civil inspection and oversight services to support the implementation and execution of the project site quality program.
- Collaborate with contractors to resolve discrepancies and ambiguities and ensures all construction activities are performed in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications, to include contract requirements.
- Control and the distribution of all the company’s quality documentation
- Monitor all quality related activities on the project
- Perform daily inspections of the work being performed onsite.
- Perform all internal and external audits on behalf of the company’s management
- Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.
- Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements
- Monitor the disposition of all issued nonconformance reports.
- Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements, when required.
- Review and provide comments on all quality related correspondence with the contractor’s representatives.
- Monitor statistical method reporting.
- Review all turnover documentation upon the completion of the project.
- Participate in all quality related activities with the designated representatives.
- Attend monthly, weekly and daily meetings and provide perspective on all quality related subjects when needed.
- 5 years of experience in construction quality management. Construction experience preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Prior utility experience.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Ability to plan and perform highly complex operations with the ability and authority to make decisions autonomously
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Cedar River Generating Station is a natural gas electric generating facility with a capacity of approximately 94 net megawatts (MWac).
- The Project will consist of five Wärtsilä W18V50SG
RICE generators. Each RICE generator will have a nominal capacity of 18.8 MW. The Project will be located adjacent to the existing Prairie Creek Generating Station.
