Position: Construction Quality Manager III  # 26-12957
Duration: 12 months Contract

Job Description:

• The QA Manager is a full-time field-based position responsible for mechanical/civil inspection and oversight services to support the implementation and execution of the project site quality program.
• Collaborate with contractors to resolve discrepancies and ambiguities and ensures all construction activities are performed in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications, to include contract requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Control and the distribution of all the company’s quality documentation
• Monitor all quality related activities on the project
• Perform daily inspections of the work being performed onsite.
• Perform all internal and external audits on behalf of the company’s management
• Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.
• Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements
• Monitor the disposition of all issued nonconformance reports.
• Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements, when required.
• Review and provide comments on all quality related correspondence with the contractor’s representatives.
• Monitor statistical method reporting.
• Review all turnover documentation upon the completion of the project.
• Participate in all quality related activities with the designated representatives.
• Attend monthly, weekly and daily meetings and provide perspective on all quality related subjects when needed.

Experience:

• 5 years of experience in construction quality management. Construction experience preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong conflict resolution skills.
• Prior utility experience.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Ability to plan and perform highly complex operations with the ability and authority to make decisions autonomously
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Skillset:

• Cedar River Generating Station is a natural gas electric generating facility with a capacity of approximately 94 net megawatts (MWac).
• The Project will consist of five Wärtsilä W18V50SG
  RICE generators. Each RICE generator will have a nominal capacity of 18.8 MW. The Project will be located adjacent to the existing Prairie Creek Generating Station.
