Job Description
Rental Sales Representative responsible for acting as the front‑line sales agent for vehicle rentals to the Company’s current lease and commercial rental accounts, as well as potential commercial rental customers and consumer household needs. The role works cross‑functionally across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Asset Management, and requires excellent customer communication and relationship‑building skills.
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Schedule: First Shift, Monday – Friday (structured workweeks with rotational Saturdays depending on branch location)
ResponsibilitiesHandle inbound and outbound sales calls, execute the business unit’s marketing plan, maintain accurate data in the company’s marketing database, and maximize rate opportunities within the marketplace.
Generate rental, lease, and used vehicle sales leads, and maintain and expand relationships with existing customer base.
Coordinate overall inventory levels to meet customer demand and achieve Ryder market share goals by executing sales and marketing initiatives.
Manage overall profitability of a rental location, coordinate with Maintenance, Asset Management, Sales, and Marketing to ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.
Understand marketplace conditions to maximize utilization of the rental fleet.
Drive profitable revenue growth by maintaining and growing customer relationships and ensuring overall satisfaction for all internal and external customers.
Reconcile all customer concerns, issues, and disputes to maintain ongoing relationships.
Build constructive and effective relationships with both internal and external customers, maintain composure in stressful situations, and clearly articulate Ryder’s product and service offerings.
- Serve as an On‑Call Representative on a voluntary basis or as required by scheduling.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- High school diploma or GED required.
- One (1) year or more sales experience required.
