As a Security Officer - Overnights Full Time in Cedar Rapids, IA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at an industrial manufacturing location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, respond to calls for assistance, and communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and operations teams.
This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license in line with Allied Universal driver policy. Bring integrity, teamwork, and a people-first mindset.
Position Type: Full Time
Pay Rate: $26.00 / Hour
ScheduleMon – Sun, overnights. Typical shift: 12:00 AM – 08:00 AM on Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun.

- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the manufacturing and industrial location, including production areas, warehouses, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeter points as assigned.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire and/or equipment alarms, and unauthorized entry concerns.
- Monitor access points and help manage entry and exit of employees, contractors, and visitors by verifying authorization, issuing visitor instructions, and documenting activity per site requirements.
- Complete detailed reports of patrols, inspections, incidents, and/or hazards, and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts using required reporting systems.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Background investigation as required by federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Drug screen where permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
