As a Security Officer – Access Desk in Cedar Rapids, IA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location where you will support access control by verifying credentials, managing visitor entry, monitoring cameras and alarms, and completing routine patrols to help spot and report security-related concerns. You will maintain a high‑visibility presence, communicate clearly with employees and guests, and document activity with attention to detail.

• Provide customer service to clients, vendors, and visitors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.

• Control entry and exit at gates and/or building access points by checking credentials, issuing temporary badges, managing visitor logs, and directing deliveries to designated areas.

• Monitor and report security-related activity using cameras, alarms, radios, and/or access control systems, escalating concerns according to post orders.

• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including documenting events and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or first responders as needed.

• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production areas, parking lots, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
