Installation Technician, General Labor
We are seeking an entry‑level Cable Technician to support a large‑scale data center construction project. This role involves installing, routing, terminating, and testing low‑voltage cabling in an active construction environment. Candidates should be reliable, coachable, and comfortable working with hand tools, ladders, and construction documentation such as blueprints.
Responsibilities- Install work‑area outlets for floor monuments, modular furniture, and wall‑mounted systems.
- Pull and route cable using fish tape and other methods through walls and modular furniture.
- Perform pre‑termination tasks: organizing, dressing, measuring, labeling, and prepping cables.
- Properly suspend and support cable using cable trays, J‑hooks, D‑rings, bridal rings, and trapeze systems.
- Build telecom closets, including mounting backboards, racks, patch panels, fiber hardware, and grounding equipment.
- Execute fire‑stopping procedures, install sleeves, and pull cable through penetrations and pathways.
- Terminate low‑voltage devices and support ongoing installation tasks as assigned.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay & BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
