What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Mounting, configuring, and commissioning IP cameras across enterprise VMS platforms (Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, and others)
- Installing and programming access control panels, readers, locks, and door hardware across leading platforms (Genetec, Motorola, Acre, Brivo, AMAG, and more)
- Performing server-side system programming and configuration on VMS and access control servers, including basic system administration tasks
- System commissioning, end‑user training, and turnover documentation
- Service calls and system troubleshooting on existing customer sites
- Working from drawings, BOMs, and submittals — and flagging issues before they become problems in the field
- Supporting security cable installation and testing as the work requires
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on field experience installing and commissioning IP-based video surveillance and electronic access control systems (we’ll consider strong candidates with less if the foundation is there)
- Working knowledge of network fundamentals — IP addressing, VLANs, PoE, switch configuration basics
- Comfortable navigating Windows and SQL Server environments and applying basic cybersecurity practices — hardening, account management, patching awareness, and working within customer IT/security policies
- Comfortable terminating category and security cable to industry standards
- Able to read and work from construction drawings and submittals
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- BICSI INST1, INST2, or ESS credentials are a plus but not required — we support certification growth
- Manufacturer certifications (Genetec TSE, Milestone MCT, Avigilon, Lenel, Software House, etc.) strongly preferred
- Candidates without hands‑on field experience installing the systems listed above
- Anyone uncomfortable working independently on customer sites

- System programmer(s) supporting the customers and field, local PM teams supporting the technicians, pre‑fabrication shop to assist on customer hardware/mounting as needed

- Career growth path including support for manufacturer certifications, and progression estimator, programmer, or PM roles
- Stability of a 130‑year‑old company with in‑house electrical, steel erection, prefabrication, and structured cabling teams supporting complete turnkey installations
