Position: Facilities Technician 2 - Fulfillment Center

Summary

The Facilities Technician 2 executes preventative maintenance and performs troubleshooting and repairs on building systems and material handling equipment in a fulfillment center. The role supports operations by designing maintenance solutions, leading preventative maintenance procedures, and assisting with technician training. The technician diagnoses electrical and control systems, operates maintenance equipment, and helps ensure a safe working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair material handling systems and conveyors, including motor/reducer issues, belt tracking, and belt lacing
  • Diagnose electrical and electronic control systems using test equipment and interpret ladder diagrams and relay logic
  • Maintain and troubleshoot control components such as photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, sensors, timers, solenoids, drives, tachs, and encoders
  • Operate forklifts, scissor and boom lifts, hand tools, and energy management equipment to perform system support tasks
  • Lead and execute preventative maintenance procedures and create/close work orders with accurate labor, maintenance, and parts data
  • Assist in training service technicians and collaborate with operations and other departments to meet building and department goals
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, and building maintenance
  • Advanced knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of power tools and pneumatic or hydraulic tools; basic knowledge of control systems and PLCs preferred
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and aerial lifts and use hand tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to move up to 49 lbs and stand or walk during shifts up to 12 hours
