Position DetailsLocation: Cargill Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Salary: $34-$37 (based upon experience)
Hours: Monday‑Friday 7:00 am‑3:30 pm

- Work safely and collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment, adhering to PJHA, Observation process, and all safety guidelines.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, and direct other team members when appropriate.
- Install equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Assist in developing preventive maintenance standards and provide feedback on service delivery discrepancies.
- Use hand, power, and HVAC refrigeration tools, rigging, and preventive/predictive maintenance equipment.
- Operate from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, and scaffolding, using fall protection equipment.
- Work all shifts, including holidays and weekends, as required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the responsible supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Meet performance expectations set forth in performance appraisals, including development planning.
- Communicate with team members to assist in short‑ and long‑range planning.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date documented personal tool list.
- Perform accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial HVAC/refrigeration maintenance and repairs.
- EPA Universal Technician Certificate.
- Observe details at close range.
- Adjust controls quickly and repeatedly.
- Manual dexterity for grasping and assembling objects.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Move continuously for extended periods.
- Ascend/descend staircases, ladders, or step stools.
- Operate hand and power tools, and equipment.
- Operate forklifts or other vehicles safely.
- Wear a respirator when required.
- Communicate effectively.
- Arrange tasks in specified order or pattern.
Work involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, high and precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration, extreme heat and cold, wet and humid conditions, and loud noise.
CompensationSalary $34‑$37 per hour (based on experience). Total compensation varies by location, market rates, and qualifications. Minimum wage will not be below the statutory minimum.
