Industrial Mechanical Technician - Skilled
- Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
- Salary: Up to $32.00 per hour (depends on experience level)
- Hours: Tuesday-Friday 7:00am-5:30pm (1st Shift)

- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other rotating equipment.
- Work independently or under supervision as tasks require.
- Assist in establishing preventive maintenance standards and work procedures, and provide feedback on discrepancies.
- Operate hand and power tools, including grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, hydraulic pullers, and perform welding as required.
- Operate heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
- Work from elevated areas using fall protection equipment.
- Work all shifts including holidays and weekends.
- Ensure compliance with company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Meet performance expectations and participate in performance appraisals.
- Communicate with team members for short‑ and long‑range planning.
- Maintain personal tool inventory and documentation.
- Adhere to safety, effective, and efficient work standards.
- Accurate and timely administrative duties such as time accounting and work order completion.
- Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience or 4+ years education in industrial maintenance technologies/engineering.
- Working knowledge of hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipe fitting, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, preventive/predictive maintenance.
- Observe details at close range.
- Control precision of machine controls.
- Manual dexterity for quick grasp and assembly.
- Substantial lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Move for extended periods.
- Ascend/descend stairs, ladders, step stools.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, equipment.
- Operate forklifts or other vehicles safely.
- Wear respirator as required.
- Communicate effectively.
- Arrange tasks in specific order.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. Occasionally exposed to extreme heat and cold, wet or humid conditions. Noise level is usually very loud.
Compensation and BenefitsCompensation range: $27.20 – $32.00 per hour. Paid and unpaid time away from work, and competitive pay based on location, experience, etc.
