Pay Range: $27.55 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
Responsibilities- Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
- Apprentices will participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy that will build skill sets to provide continued opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards and advancement.
- Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues as well as customer needs.
- You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed.
- You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for the first year.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
- This position requires a valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel 75–100% of the time as part of the IMPACT Fly Team.
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
- 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Must have knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
- Leadership skills to support the activities of mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
- Self‑starter with the ability to eventually work independently.
- Must prioritize safety in all forms.
- 1–2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis.
- This is a Bargaining Unit Position.
