Job Summary
Join QTS’s Facilities Operations team as a Critical Operations Technician (Level I), focusing on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and IT equipment maintenance in our data centers. The role requires onsite work in a 24X7X365 environment and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and IT equipment; record readings and adjust as necessary.
- Install and repair IT, mechanical, and electrical equipment; assist team members with major repairs.
- Provide high‑level computer hardware and software configuration support.
- Install suite wall, cage material, ladder rack, fiber tray, cabinets, cabling, and customer equipment per provisioning documents and procedural guidelines.
- Process work orders for preventive and corrective maintenance on critical and site infrastructure.
- Order tools and equipment in consultation with supervisor or team lead.
- Create and update tickets in the ticketing system to address customer calls and facility alerts.
- Respond to building emergencies and customer requests as required.
- Safely store, use, and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with departmental policy.
- Follow the Change Management Process for maintenance approvals and documentation using QTS software.
- Two or more years of technical or trade training, military training, or workplace equivalency.
- Experience in facilities maintenance, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or IT hardware/cabling.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Preferred:
One or more years of experience in a data center, commercial, or industrial environment or equivalent.
