Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Service/Equipment Technician, you will perform equipment repairs with minimal supervision and ensure all safety procedures are followed. Your role will involve troubleshooting problems on various equipment using test equipment, tools, service manuals, and service bulletins. You will have the opportunity to continually enhance your proficiency in construction equipment troubleshooting and repair while maintaining accurate and up-to-date paperwork.
Responsibilities
- Perform equipment repairs in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed by yourself and fellow employees.
- Troubleshoot problems on all equipment using test equipment, tools, service manuals, and service bulletins.
- Utilize departmental reference materials, service, and parts manuals as needed to complete the job.
- Continually study and upgrade proficiency in construction equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Keep paperwork up-to-date, including personal and company documents.
- Think through job tasks and complete them in the most efficient way possible.
- Learn to operate construction equipment for diagnostics and repair.
- Own sufficient hand tools to facilitate job task completion.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of experience as an auto, diesel, or equipment mechanic.
- Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and use reference materials, both on paper and on computer.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Teamwork skills and willingness to apply skills and ask questions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Construction equipment mechanical experience preferred.
- Experience with a variety of brands and equipment classifications.
- Access to hand and power tools.

Work Environment
Work in a small, climate-controlled mechanic shop in Cedar Rapids with a team of 3 technicians and a manager. The shop operates from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. This is a Permanent position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr. Full health, vision, dental, short term PTO and Flex days Employee discounts Tool programs and continuing education
