Overview:
Principal Duties:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and the Foreman, the Maintenance Mechanic
- Electrical Technician is responsible for the following:

Other duties may be assigned. Typical workday will be Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.

-3:30 p.m. Working hours may be adjusted as needed to accomplish repairs that are required to be outside of typical workday hours, to be determined by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Reports to work on a regular and reliable basis with excellent attendance.

Requires general knowledge of MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems, including but not limited to high and low voltage, distribution panels, switch gear, transformers, fire alarms, clock systems, and various other electrical components.

Must be capable of and comfortable with working from heights.

Capable of working both independently and as a team.

Ability to read sketches, blueprints, specification manuals, and other written instructions.

Possess good problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade.

Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and implement ideas contained in technical documents, reports, regulations, etc.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, colleagues, staff and students.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written forms.

Mathematical

Skills:

Ability to perform basic mathematical functions required in the building maintenance trade, including, but not limited to, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, decimals, and fractions.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs frequently. Sufficient physical strength and ability to perform manual labor and to work from ladders and scaffolding. The employee will be required to work in hot or cold conditions inside and outside of buildings. Must pass the required workgroup physical assessment to be eligible.

Required Education Level: High School diploma or GED
