Installation Technician

Overview

DIRECTV is hiring Installation Technicians for its Burlington and Dubuque, Iowa service areas. The role involves installing, testing, and repairing satellite and related equipment while delivering customer‑focused support.

• Work at heights on ladders and raised surfaces to install and service down‑link satellite equipment.
• Use the company PC to retrieve and complete orders during installations.
• Educate customers on DIRECTV services, demonstrate installations, and assist with video‑service billing.
• Perform mandatory body‑positions, including bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling, in buildings, attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
• Work outdoors in all weather while wearing safety gear and following safety procedures.
• Drive a company vehicle and report independently to job sites.

• Valid state driver’s license (commercial or chauffeur) and satisfactory driving record.
• Availability for day, evening, night, overtime, emergency call‑outs, weekends, and holidays.
• Possible travel, overnight stays, and manual‑gear vehicle operation.
• Drug test, security check, and background check may be required.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and in non‑heated or non‑air‑conditioned environments.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and not exceed 275 pounds for ladder‑climbing assignments.
• Must meet the Premise Technician Assessment and Physical Ability Evaluation requirements.
