Level II Fiber Technician (3–5 Years Experience): $42.00–$48.00/hour (W-2)
Level III Fiber Technician (5+ Years Experience): $48.00–$55.00/hour (W-2)
Overtime:Available based on project needs.
Travel BenefitsPer Diem: $178.00/day (7 days per week) covering lodging, meals, and incidental expenses for eligible travelers.
Additional travel benefits include:
- Mileage reimbursement at $0.725 per mile from your permanent residence to the project location.
- Paid travel time to the project location.

- Monday – Friday (to start).

Position OverviewAllegiance Supply is seeking experienced Level II and Level III Fiber Technicians to join an exciting pilot program supporting one of the nation's newest hyperscale data center projects.
This assignment begins with a paid 2–4 week localized technical training program
, followed by an approximately 8-week deployment in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to start. Successful technicians may have opportunities to continue supporting additional hyperscale projects nationwide.
This position supports critical Layer 1 infrastructure used by large cloud computing and AI data centers. Responsibilities include installation, fusion splicing, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, documentation, and maintenance of high-density fiber optic systems.
Candidates must be safety-focused, quality-driven, and willing to travel 100% as future projects become available.
Primary Responsibilities Fiber Splicing- Perform fusion splicing using Fujikura 90R fusion splicers (required).
- Utilize 16-count V-groove 200-micron holders.
- Splice 12-count rollable ribbon fiber to dual 8-count ribbon configurations.
- Maintain proper splice tray organization and cable management.
- Ensure all splice work meets customer quality standards.
Utilize EXFO testing equipment to perform:
- Tier-1 MPO Single-Mode certification.
- Bi-directional OTDR testing.
- Optical loss testing.
- Power meter testing using pinned and unpinned leads.
- Fiber inspection and certification.
- Troubleshooting and fault isolation.
- Maximum allowable loss: 2.0 dB.
- Generate complete testing reports and documentation.
- Verify compliance with customer specifications and applicable TIA/BICSI standards.
- Install, terminate, splice, and test single-mode and multimode fiber optic cabling.
- Install MPO/MTP, LC, and SC fiber connectivity systems.
- Build backbone, horizontal, and interconnect fiber infrastructure.
- Install cable tray systems, pathways, raceways, and cable management.
- Route and dress cabling according to hyperscale data center standards.
- Diagnose fiber optic network issues.
- Repair damaged fiber infrastructure.
- Perform cable tracing and fault isolation.
- Execute Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs).
- Support live production environments while minimizing downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections.
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation.
- Update labeling and cable databases.
- Complete project closeout documentation.
- Maintain customer quality standards throughout the project.
- Work closely with construction managers, network engineers, commissioning teams, and operations personnel.
- Support new server deployments requiring fiber connectivity.
- Participate in commissioning and data hall turn-up activities.
- Assist with inventory and material management.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with relevant work experience.
