The Instrumentation Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role is responsible for installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial instrumentation and control devices used in automation systems, ensuring accurate measurement of process variables such as flow, pressure, temperature, and level. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation; performing loop checks and signal verification;

documenting maintenance and calibration activities; and supporting system startups and shutdowns. The technician will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other technical staff to implement instrumentation solutions, adhere to safety and quality standards, and support continuous improvement of plant reliability and performance. The role may also involve assisting with commissioning, supporting field service activities, and providing input on instrumentation selection and upgrades.

• Strong instrumentation and controls skills, including installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of sensors, transmitters, control valves, and related devices.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation such as P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Experience with industrial automation and control systems (PLC/DCS), signal types (analog/digital), and basic networking or fieldbus protocols is highly beneficial.
• Solid understanding of electrical fundamentals, including wiring practices, grounding, and safe work procedures in industrial environments.
• Knowledge of applicable safety standards and regulations, and commitment to safe work practices in manufacturing or industrial facilities.
• Effective problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to document work clearly and accurately.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and operations personnel.
