Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday

About the Opportunity

McGrath Powersports Cedar Rapids is seeking an experienced Service Technician / Mechanic to join our growing service team.

Motorcycle or powersports experience is not required. We are interested in experienced technicians with backgrounds in automotive repair, diesel, small engines, equipment repair, mechanical service, or other related technical fields who have strong diagnostic and repair skills and are interested in expanding their experience into the powersports industry.

If you're an Automotive Technician, Auto Mechanic, Service Technician, Diesel Technician, Small Engine Mechanic, Equipment Technician, or experienced mechanical professional looking for a new opportunity, your existing technical skills can transfer well into this position.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys diagnosing and solving mechanical problems, and wants to continue developing their technical skills in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional automotive, diesel, powersports, small engine, equipment repair, or related mechanical experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical concerns
  • Electrical diagnostic experience preferred
  • Ability and willingness to learn motorcycle and powersports repair procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining repair quality and safety standards
  • Basic computer skills for service documentation and repair orders
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Must own tools required to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and safely maneuver motorcycles and powersports equipment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
What You'll Do
  • Diagnose, maintain, service, and repair motorcycles and powersports vehicles
  • Apply your existing mechanical and diagnostic experience while learning powersports-specific systems and repair procedures
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, engine, and drivability concerns
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and mechanical repairs
  • Identify additional maintenance and repair needs during vehicle inspections
  • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
  • Communicate diagnostic findings and repair needs clearly with Service Advisors and management
  • Maintain accurate repair documentation and service records
  • Follow established safety procedures and manufacturer repair guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Collaborate with the service team to provide an exceptional customer experience
