Lead Commercial Furniture Service Technician
Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a Lead Commercial Furniture Service Technician! The Commercial Furniture Lead Installer is responsible for leading installation crews, coordinating daily on-site work, and ensuring all projects are completed with exceptional quality, safety, and client satisfaction. This role owns jobsite execution — directing installers, resolving issues, communicating with project teams, and upholding Pigott's standards for workmanship, professionalism, and client experience.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a hands-on leader, and a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced installation environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute commercial furniture installation according to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Lead, train, and support installation team members on-site.
- Supervise unloading, staging, inspection, loading, and securing of products.
- Review installation plans and understand full project scope and special conditions.
- Provide daily updates, report issues or variances, and obtain client sign-offs as needed.
- Interface professionally with clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Assist with preliminary walk-throughs, pre-installation site visits, and change order initiation.
- Monitor schedules, anticipate project needs, and ensure readiness for upcoming work.
- Maintain safety, cleanliness, organization, and professionalism on all jobsites.
- Ensure high-quality performance for both personal work and the work performed by the crew.
- Collaborate with installation management to resolve on-site issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by installation leadership.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2–3 years of commercial furniture installation experience, including systems furniture.
- Leadership or crew lead experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, installation plans, manuals, and procedural documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to write clear reports and correspondence.
- Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Professional appearance, strong work ethic, and commitment to client satisfaction.
- Ability to perform moderate physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and regular standing, walking, kneeling, and use of hand tools.
Hours:
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Monday–Friday
- Daily travel to North Liberty required
Pay:
- $26–$28 per hour
