What you will do?

As a Youth Counselor you will provide direct care services and coverage to meet the needs of our clients. This includes but is not limited to ensuring safety & supervision, skill building, behavioral management and communications within the team. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide supervision and treatment intervention.
  • Establish a therapeutic relationship with the client based on trust & respect.
  • Evaluate the impact of behavioral, group treatment, and life-space interventions while providing direction & feedback.
  • Serve as a positive role model and agent of change for the youth.
  • Safely transport youth to/from program activities and community resources while monitoring behaviors.
  • Provide individualized reinforcement to client behavior to teach and reinforce adaptive behaviors.
  • Utilize a proactive/preventive method of intercepting problems before they escalate.
  • Assist clients in developing insight into their behaviors so that they learn to self-identify and self correct.
