Overview of the role

Supervise youth in the facility during day-to-day activities, providing safety and security, and role modeling appropriate behaviors. Provide crisis stabilization, processing, and de-escalation of youth up to and including physical restraint (training provided and required to attend). Complete daily documentation. Responsible for passing medication (Medication Manager training is available and required to attend). Assist with phone coverage and answering in a timely and professional manner;

provide transportation for youth to and from activities.

The schedule is
  • Saturday 7:30am-1:30pm
  • Sunday 7:30am-1:30pm
  • Monday 7:30am-1:30pm
  • Tuesday 7:30am-1:30pm

What you’ll do

  • Assist with phone coverage and answering in a timely and professional manner; provide transportation for youth to and from activities.
What you need
  • High school diploma and one (1) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Comfort using basic computer software.
  • Basic typing and data entry skills.
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and be insurable by the agency auto insurance policy.
  • Pass all background checks completed by Foundation 2 Crisis Services.
  • Submit copy of college degree or transcript as required by licensure for personnel file.
  • Live in Iowa.
  • Live within 50 miles of Cedar Rapids, IA.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Successfully complete required trainings within required time periods.
  • Complete a physical exam prior to the beginning of employment and every three (3) years thereafter.
  • Be free of communicable diseases as determined by a physician.
  • Education or training in trauma-informed care preferred.
  • Experience working with and compassion for at-risk youth preferred.
  • Knowledge/experience working in the mental health, substance use, and/or problem gambling field preferred.
